CANALHOUSE HERENGRACHT AMSTERDAM

The original 17th-century building with stepped gable can be seen on the drawing by Caspar Philips. In 1902 the house was largely renovated and provided with a new façade in Art Nouveau style, but in the basement some details of the old house are still legible. The building plans from 1902 have been preserved.

The last residents were an elderly couple who lived here during their long marriage and now wanted to downsize. The first floor, which consists of the hall, corridor, kitchen with dining room, was so dated that the real estate agent decided that the house could be presented much more interestingly using 3D visuals with a modern approach to this space.

With our artist impressions we have emphasized the length of this floor with a long, striking kitchen and a distinguished dining area on the canal side, with a cosmopolitan appearance. The canal house was soon sold to a foreign young professional.
