APARTMENT FORMER DEACON’S HOUSE HILLEGOM

Situated in Hillegom, North-Holland, this apartment is located in the former St. Joseph Residence. Today, this remarkable building bears the name Kloosterhof. The construction of the St. Joseph Residence, originally intended as a Deacon’s House, started on 16 August 1907. The design of the building was left to architect Carel Robbers, who at the beginning of the 20th century designed several churches and chapels, monastic complexes and schools. On the 24th of August 1909, the first Franciscan Sisters arrived in Hillegom and took up residence there. The sisters were entrusted with the care of the needful and they also took care of the district nursing.

The apartment was inhabited by an artsy, a ravishing lady the interior was rather specific and slightly dated. The real estate agent wanted to show this beautiful, high space optimally and in collaboration with him we designed a striking interior and visualized it with artist impressions.

The kitchen and dining room are the heart of the house. That is why we wanted to show an extra large table and proposed a special cupboard wall, inspired by a folding screen, so that a feeling of movement is created.

The apartment has been sold to a travel-loving, recently retired couple who will use this apartment near the Keukenhof as a sophisticated pied-a-terre.
